Radio Problem

I have a new 4 * 60 that is now finished. I have installed the radio and there is a small issue, the throttle control sometimes seems to make all of the other channels "flutter". I have a metal clevis on the throw rod, could this be causing the radio issue?

It is the first time I have had any radio issue with any of my planes so I am a bit confused.

Any thoughts?

Manks,
It sure can cause a problem. If you have metal to metal contact between the clevis and the metal arm on your carb it can create RF noise, which can mess up your receiver. Switch it out to a nylon clevis and see if your problem doesn't go away.

How close to the model are you when you notice this? Full antenna within a few feet will overload the receiver - causing glitches. Does an assistant notice this when you stand 20 feet away with a shortened antenna?

Throttle causing interference due to metal on metal contact will only cause a problem with the engine running, if your engine is not running this is not your issue.

I will dissagree. If the throttle arm is metal and the clevis is metal, just operating the trottle (with the engine not running) can cause interference.
