Flight Training

I would like to acknowledge and thank the members of the Marymoor R/C Club that put on and ran the just completed Flight Training at our field in Redmond. Just to name a few, Robert C, Jerry W, Bill, Jack F, Everett D, Wade, Dave E, Admiral, Steve G, Mark, Lana. If I have left you off the list it was not intentional or ment as a dig in any way.
Just to explain a little, every year the club puts on a flight training school for rookies that starts in April and goes till September, every Tuesday night weather permitting. Now if you think about that span of time, there is an amazing amount of logistics that goes into that and being that I was one of the rookies that showed up in April without really much of a clue what to expect these folks started me on a very rewarding and exciting hobby. I have no idea how many flights were accomplished over the flight school period of time, but I can personally say that I have about 40 flights and for anyone looking for a great trainer I would reccommend both the Great Planes Real Flight V4 Flight Simulator and the Hanger 9 Alpha 40 RTF Trainer. While I had two incidents with this trainer one which left it destroyed this was an exceptional trainer and Hanger 9 has a great trainer aircraft. The Marymoor team just did a wonderful job and they have served the R/C community very well and have helped me personally more then anyone namely me could ever expect. Thank You Marymoor R/C. Best Wishes, Eric Benjamin |

Any chance of seeing the course outline? :)

RE: Flight Training
I too wouldn’t mind seeing their training course outline.
Hey, they Alpha looks easily repairable from the picture. Shouldn’t take more than a weekend or so and it’ll be back up flying. Hogflyer |
RE: Flight Training
Hey Hog,
Yes the first one was repairable but the second one was not. |
RE: Flight Training
Hey Hog,
Here is the post that describes the number 2 incident: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=7942478 Eric |
RE: Flight Training
Easy fix! Just attach the front the the Alpha where only the center/nose section remained with the rest of the one with the damaged fire wall. :D:D:D:D
I'm amazed the center/nose of the one alpha survived intact - that must have been one heck of an impact. The Alpha is one rugged trainer. And hey, even the rubberbands held. :D Sounds like you have a great club there to help you get back up flying with another trainer. Hogflyer |
