Pre-Flight Checklist?
Anyone have a good pre-flight checklist and willing to share it with the rest of us? Fuel, flight control check, servo extension locks, inspection of aircraft, trims, throttle, etc...
Any suggestions would be appreciated as I am intending to make up a checklist and am open to ideas. |
RE: Pre-Flight Checklist?
Mine are:
Internal wiring and servo connection check Battery voltage check (under load) Full load of fuel Control surfaces Correct tune, performed by ensuring that it will rev from idle Pull the antennae out if I'm using my old FM radio |
RE: Pre-Flight Checklist?
Checklists will depend somewhat on the plane. This is what I generally do.
During assembly Visual inspection of all internal parts, wiring, etc. I generally push on various items to be sure they aren’t loose, like a servo, fuel tank, rx, etc. Visually verify all external linkages, screws, etc., are in place. Sight down wing tube to be sure it isn’t bent, etc. After Assembly Tug test on all flight surfaces, wings, motor, etc. Range Check Preflight before each flight Check all batteries Check switches individually (if using dual batteries) Verify Fueled / air Verify model in radio Verify switches on radio in proper RX turn on position Verify surface movement and direction Post flight Check batteries Verify fuel used Record flight in logbook |
RE: Pre-Flight Checklist?
I find my mental checklist works unless someone is talking to me when I am getting ready to fly. The last time it happened I started the engine with the radio off. I now stop getting ready and chat then go back to the plane.
