I bought a use super tiger trainer and its in great shape I dont think the guy I got it from fly it. Wich makes me belive that it hasnr flown in a bit. I have been trying to start it and no go. Im just getting into this and Im starting it by spining it counter clockwise from standing in front of the plane. Im perty sur its the right way. and I tryed useing my starter and it put groves into the cone. Im prob all wrong but its fun anyways ;] thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it is not starting, you need to check for fuel in the engine and a good glow plug. Please be careful as the engine can hurt you when it does start. Good Luck, Dave

I just got a new glow plug, and a new battery for my ignighter, and its getting fuel. It just wont start????????

Assuming you have a SuperTigre engine....

Turn on the radio and palen, close the throttle all the way but DO NOT close it to idle "stop".

Turn off the plane and radio.

Without moving the throttle, screw the LOW SPEED needle in lightly until it stops. You of course need a screw driver for this.

Now screw the LS needle screw back out until it is about 3mm depressed below the metal edge... the screw will appear to be somewhat recessed into the surrounding barrel.

Now take the HS needle all the way in, and UNSCREW it 2 1/2 turns.

Turn on the TX and the plane.

Open the throttle all the way.

DO NOT install the ignitor yet.

Put your finger over the carb entrance OR the muffler exhause and spin the prop until you see fuel reaching the carb.

At this point spin the prop over 3-4 more times. BEFORE you let go of the muffler or carb, reduce the throttle on the TX all the way back down.

Quickly put on the ignitor and crank the engine over with the starter. You should hear it respond right away, though it may run very roughly at this point.

Then start tuning!

You sound a little too new to do this from written instructions.....take the plane to your hobby store and have them go over it and check it out....engines are generally pretty easy to get started.....or take it to the flying field and make a new friend...Rog

Well I did my sig four star 40 with a new os la .40 and I mounted it myself and it runs great althought that is a new engine. I did kinda like he said above but I will give those neddle settings a try and see if that works. I have one of the ignighters that hook up 2 a battery and Im not sure I like it I may try a differnt one. and yes Im joining a field in the next few weeks once My AMA merbiship arives! thanks for all the help!

take the glow plug off of the engine and put on your glow ignitor to see if the glow plug glows....if it does glow put it back on, and squirt some fuel in the carb maually and see if it fires


but the best advice is like the other said, take it to the field

thats a good idea see if theres spark, and im not sure why i didnt think of doing that. just like a car! haha thanks for all the help this is a great site!
