cheap nitro planes

Hello,

I have bought some cheap but decent quality ARF models from World Models and Seagull.

While these weren't the best quality models I ever bought, they were worth the money I paid for them, in my opinion.

Does anyone know of any other manufacturers that provide relatively low cost glow powered balsa ARF's with decent quality (although not necessarily top quality)?

Thanks,

Matt

nitroplanes.com The Giles 202 50 is a nice plane. Flies great with a YS 63 in it. For $88.00 it is hard to beat.

nitroplanes.com not bad, not great. Price is pretty low for the planes you get, they fly great. Like any ARF they are built so light you aren't going to get anything in the way of air time as you will with A good kit built plane. Right now they are on sale and some pretty good deals to be had.

Not talking trainers, talking about there Extras and Yak type of planes. I don't think I have ever seen one of there trainers but the more advanced planes aren't bad at all. I think it's there 90 size planes on sale right now for about 125 bucks. I see A lot of them at the fields now. NOt my cup of tea but if you are looking for A good flying ARF then take A look at them. I'm really not an ARF guy but I have seen A lot worse for A lot more money. Just for grins I would like to strip one and go through the bones with some real glue and epoxy, maybe even some real wood then recover it and see how long it would last. Just A thought!![8D] How can you say no to 125 beans???

I actually think Seagull models are of very high quality, at least the ones I have had or seen.
Modeltech is another one. I have their SE5 which is really nice.

Seagull (advantage hobby, horizon hobby), Black Horse Models (Hobby People, American Pioneer) and Phoenix Models (Tower Hobbies, Advantage Hobby) are all very low in cost and very nice quality planes. They tend to run on the heavier side, though not too bad. These are all made in Vietnam, possibly by the same manufacturer, though they are NOT the same planes (there is a Phoenix Decathlon and a Seagull Decathlon, and they are different, etc.)

You can get a trainer for about a hundred bucks, an advanced .40 aerobat for $120, and even a quarter scale plane for $250. Again, they run on the heavy side - the quarter scale planes are upwards of 12-13 lbs, but people seem to really love them and the way they fly. I had a few phoenix planes and was very happy with them for the price.

I always thought of a lightly built aircraft as an asset, not a liability. Crazy me.

The Blackhorse .60 size Extra is one of the best planes I have bought at any price.I have one with an O.S .91 2 cycle and its a great plane.I was amazed how well it is built and I gave less than 150.00 for it.The .25 size Modeltech Extra is another good one, flies great and an O.S. .32 is almost overkill for it.
