Y LEADS

Hi As a beginner what does a Y lead do on eilarons if one side goes up and the other side down and there is one lead coming from the RX how does it work

The Y connector allows you to run dual servos off the same RX channel.

If its dual aileron servo setup out on the wing the linkage is setup such that the pushrods are attached to the control horn on the opposite side of the other servo. That way the movement is made in the opposite direction with one aileron going up while other goes down. Hope that helps.

RE: Y LEADS

Simply put the Y is simply a splitter.
Both servos move in the same direction (ie... clockwise or counter clockwise) but since the mechanical connection to each servo is on opposite sides of the servo the ailerons themselfs will move opposite of each other.
You can hook up flaps with a Y if both mechanical links are on the same side of each servo so that both flaps will move in the same direction.

Ken uses an etch a sketch :D, and our good friend Minnflyer is an accomplished graphics artist. And a damn good one, too.
