Applying Vinyl Decals
When applying vinyl decals can you use Windex? Or should I use Rapid Tac? I only have one decal. Hate to pay 15 Plus dollars for one application.

RE: Applying Vinyl Decals
Use Windex. It works great for positioning the decal. When you have the decal in place squeegee the windex out from under it. Allow the decal to dry for 24 hours before subjecting it to fuel, exhaust, of the wind of flight.

You can also use plain water with a few drops of dish soap in it

Thanks for the quick reply. I was going to clear coat my plane with Top Flite Clear Coat. Can I spray over the decal?
Thanks chopperman |
RE: Applying Vinyl Decals
I would assume you can use top flite clear over vinyl, but can't say for sure. What I can say is that I have shot PPG clear over sign vinyl and it works fine. My only concern would be that the coats are different chemisty. If you used a liquid for positioning, let that sucker dry really good, like a week, before sealing it with a clear coat.
