finally all the bugs worked out

I Finally got all the problems I was having sorted out with my Glow Magister conversion. after correcting some issues with the airframe, I decided to run an 11x6 MAS prop. finally the plane will take off in a short distance. I haven't flown a lot lately, and found myself getting the nervous feeling again. the first flight kinda spooked me because I didn't have enough elevator dialed in and was bearly able to climb out. after landing and making some throw adjustments and swapping out for a longer servo arm to get the throw I was looking for, the plane flew like a dream. I'm running a 10oz. tank an OS .46AX and with my current prop selection I can cruise around at 1/4 throttle and still climb out at an easy climb angle. I had the plane up for 20 minutes on one flight, when I landed to check the tank level I still had over 1/2 a tank left. I could probably keep this thing in the air for 30-40 minutes if I wanted to.
I was going to buy a BH P-40 but I think I'm going to fly this one for a while longer until I find my comfort level again.

I don,t know anything about your airplane but sounds nifty. Concerning longs flights when you are learning and since this is in the beginners forum I am going to make that assumption. Peak learning occurs somewhere in the first minutes of a flight and from that point on it will be downhill untill its actually counterproductive to continue to fly. The does occur virtually to everyone and on every flight wheather you are aware of it or not, most folks are not. The very same thing happens to full scale students.

Its for this reason I always keep training flights short and keep a keen eye on the students so the flight is kept short and more flights made later this works very well.

Twenty minutes is too long in my opinion and thirty minutes is out of the question for primary training if you really want to progress rapidly fly shorter and fly more often.

Just a fews thoughts

John
