How about a [link=http://www.flying-model-simulator.com/]free simulator?[/link] Obviously follow the directions for your language.

You can also get an adapter to use your own radio, and many of them come with the free simulator. I got mine from [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/FMS-Simulator-USB-Lire-Cable-Adapter-For-Esky-JR-Futaba_W0QQitemZ220324008377QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAU_ Toys_Hobbies_Radio_Controlled_Vehicles?hash=item22 0324008377&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A120 5|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1 |294%3A50]ebay.[/link]

it may not have the best graphics;but it is good for muscular cordination in your fingers and to learn to reverse thecontols when flying toward you. I try to fly mine every night. When I first flew after I got the sim;everybody that was there could tell that I had been on a sim.

Yep, this cheap little sim definitely gave my skills a jump start! I think I've only used it a couple of times since I flew a real plane, but am starting to use it more now that I know what I need to practice (thanks to some horribly honest judges! [:@]) :D

ok i think i will go for the fms esky sim

im not bothered about graphics even though i have got a good enough pc to hold decent graphics

i just need something to teach me how to fly

the things i need to know first are :

- does it work on vista?

- can you download more planes if you wanted?

thanks

RE: flight sims

To use your radio, you need [link=http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11996]an adaptor[/link], also widely available on Ebay (with FMS disc). Then go into the calibrate mode and set it up.

I've got XP and it works fine. Until you get the adapter you can fly with the keyboard, which will still help your brain with the orientation of flying a plane toward you and away from you. This is how it helps you fly a real RC plane - once you get your radio hooked up, your thumbs will know the proper amounts of input to fly the plane. That's pretty much what it's good for - just basic practice.

My radio still gets calibrated under 'joystick interface' and works fine.
