quick and easy camping plane

A little back ground on me since I'm pretty quiet on here. I currently own and fly and alpha trainer 40. I have been flying it solo for some time and am comfortable with it. I have purchased a pulse .40 and have built most of it and am just stuck on the money hump of a new engine, radio, and receiver. I have owned and flown a firebird and aerobird as well.

What I'm looking for is something that is quick and easy that I can throw in the truck or whatever to have with me when I go camping and not have to haul flight gear and stuff like that. I'm not extremely advanced and I also want something that I can let a friend take a turn on, or maybe some kids so they can get the thrill as well. I was thinking maybe the hobby zone super cub or maybe one of the more advanced "bird" series of planes. Does anyone have any suggestions?

That Cub is OK but the flight time on the battery was too short. With after market batteries it would be better.

Yes more batteries are needed for that plane or you fly for 8min. and charge for an hr. then 8min and charge. I put a 480 brushless on one and a 2100 lipo and man it was faster than the wings would hold up. Broke one of the stabalizer cords and it folded in half was a trip for sure. The wing unfolded kinda and got it landed hot glue and 5min it was flying again. If your a beginer then extra props, batteries, some foam safe CA, Tape (packing) and you can fly awhile. I also used the bomb drop dealy and had a blast with that trying to hit certain targets. Got close but never hit exactly right on lol. You can get or make small drop bombs or they have a parachute man also. Great for kids to have fun with.

I also saw the Super Decathlon, it seems very similar to the super cub.....

What about removing the landing gear on these for some belly landings when I don't have a suitable area to roll on? I am assuming that these can be hand launched as well?

Anybody know of any other planes similar to these?

The Juice:

I would suggest a small glider, with or without electric motor; such as the Mini Ventura.

Gliders give you the opportunity of using thermals as a way to save batteries and to extend flight time.
Besides being quiet, they are also docile enough for others to give it a try.

Regards!
