Gap too Big?

I never had a gap between my cowl and spinner back plate this big EVER, i used the sock standoffs that motor came with and the stock predrilled cowl mounting wholes, and have almost 1/2" gap, do you think its too big? its on an aeroworks 50cc extra 260 with a dl-50

That gap is fine, it's not going to cause any problems. I wouldn't worry about it.

You could use shorter standoffs. That is a pretty big gap.

Will it hurt anything? Nope.

If you don't like it though you can always buy some shorter stand-off's or make some.

If it were me, I'd probably try to move it, 'cause I'm like that. It's a nice plane, I'd do everything I could to make it look perfect. Would require rebalancing and moving stuff around though.

What's with that junk spinner?

just kidding, it looks REALLY nice:D

From the flying standpoint, nothing, from the surgical standpoint, UBER Caution, it will remove a hand at the wrist, through the bone, without remorse.

At least it'd be a nice clean cut... should only take a competent neurosurgeon eight hours or so to reconnect the major nerves. :)

Carbon fiber prop, gas engine, only the number one choice for those that can afford them.

Yep. I've heard lots of good things about Aeroworks; looks as good as the reports. I'm psyched to have one one day!

GaRCfield I finally got that Aeroworks Edge 540, and its a really nice looking plane. Im taking my sweet time on it, have you started on your Yak?

Jetdesign 12-15-2008 09:12 AM

RE: Gap too Big?

Nope. Finals week this week. Will start Yak on Friday:D

If I can keep my Yak (and Venus) in good shape for a whole season, I may do something like a [link=http://aero-works.net/store/detail.aspx?ID=308]35cc Aeroworks Extra[/link]. It's hard to spend that much ca$h on an airframe in my first season of RC flying.

Oohhh, maybe that 50cc [link=http://aero-works.net/store/detail.aspx?ID=300]Python[/link]...[>:]

Never too early to start thinking about graduation presents!
