help with canopy
 

hello all

i need help with gluing my canopy on my 4 *60,
i have painted it black and would like to glue it on so i don`t make a mess.
would i use wood glue and tape it down till glue sets up?
or use med c/a,
that scares me because of how fast it sets up..

I use the formula 560 with great success. Just be sure you use lots of painters tape to hold the canopy down until the glue dries. I use clear or tinted canopies and the nice thing about formula 560 is that it dries clear.

DO NOT USE CA...it has the possibility of frosting the canopy....I have never glued a canopy..you can't get it off if you need to...I use number 2 wood screws to hold the canopy down

Ditto what Jetmech and Goirish have said. Stay away from CA as it will fog the plastic. I like to use the Formula-560. It's easy to use and does a great job of gluing the canopy in place. It dries clear and is easy to clean up any excess that squeezes out around the canopy.

for years now I have simply taped them on using electrical tape.
being in the trade, access to good tape such as scotch 33 or super 88 is easy.
although the past few years the average electrical tape appears to work good for this.

on a peice of glass, stretch out a long line of tape, cut it to width with a new razor blade.
remove it from the glass,all the adhesion is still there, try not to stretch as you apply it to the seam.
this works for several years at a time, and can be removed, and freshend up as required.

try phase (colored) tape, or dubro clear hindge tape, (blenderm, by 3m)
