WHAT KIT???
I would like a cub-style airplane kit but all I have available are a 400 and 450 e-flite outrunner motor and components. What cub kits are good for the size motors I have?

I think the 600 motor it refes to is a Brushed motor. Is 400/450 Motor Brushless ? Bob |
RE: WHAT KIT???
Take a look at this Herr kit: http://sigmfg.com (click on aircraft/kits/scale)
The 1/2A Cub is meant for small glow engines but it could likely be converted to electric. At 20 ounces or so, your motors should fly it great. Another option, if you don't mind an ARF, might be the World Models electric Cub: http://airborne-models.com/html/prod...p?ProductID=59. Your 450 should still fly it pretty scale if the advertised weight is close to correct. |
RE: WHAT KIT???
Well, I looked closer at the WM Cub and it is discontinued.... not good.

RE: WHAT KIT???
I'm building this kit right now: [link=http://www.aerocraftrc.com/planepage.php?id=17]Super Cub[/link]
It would be a good match for your 400 motor. Though, it is a "builder's" kit, so I wouldn't suggest it unless you have built a couple kits already. The instructions assume you have some experience and don't tell you every detail on how to accomplish some tasks. |
