Servo question
1 Attachment(s)
Just ordered the SIG Hog Bipe. The web site recommends at least a 60 in/oz. servo for the rudder, and at least a 50 in/oz. servo for the elevator. I am currently using a JR Quattro Tx and was planing on using JR servos, but after looking at the cost I was wondering if Tower Hobbies servos are any good; they are definately cheaper. Should I stay with JR, or Futaba servos or are the Tower ones o.k. to do the job???
By the way. think it would be o.k. to use some really SUPER DUPER servos to fly my 254 pound 25 foot wingspan Ultralight from the ground??? Hahaah.....just kidding. see photo below. |

Servo question
Tower servos appear to be Futaba or Hobico in disguise, at least for some of them. They seem to work fine for the guys I know who have them (I have 4 "standard" size ones).
There's no problem mixing and matching servo brands to get the servo with the specs you want on the control surface you want. I fly a mix of JR, Hitech, Tower, and Hobico, and just got a single GWS/Polk servo. Check out www.servocity.com for good prices on servos and FREE SHIPPING that makes it reasonable to mix and match things around. (I have no affilication with servo city, I just buy stuff from them once in a while) |
Thanks
Thanks for the site tip............
