May be to far gone!
 

So my dad and i figured out that the plane may be to far gone to repair. We were thinking about getting [link=http://www.nitroplanes.com/stevtr.html]this[/link] plane. Are there any other planes i should look at that may be better than this one.(I have already looked at all the planes they posted at the top of the forum)

I think that will be fine... has the typical trainer design. I'd go for it.

FYI: If you're 72 mhz and you've crashed badly, change the RX crystal. 2.4 RX should be fine though.

The only caveat I will throw out is be prepared for little to no instructions to be provided with the plane. Nitro Planes are notorious about putting out horrible instructions with the planes that they sell. In addition, if you do have any problems you may have problems getting after market support from them. These are based on based performance from the company, your mileage may vary. But be prepared just in case.

Some Nitro Planes stuff is unbelievably good and some is garbage. Like RCKen says, forget about decent instructions and be prepared to figure things out yourself and possibly make modifications.

For $10 more you can get the Tower Trainer which is known to be good, has great instructions and is backed by top-notch support. Keep your eye on the Tower Hobbies home page and you may just see a discount coupon from time to time as well.

I have flown the nitro trainer and the tower trainer. Get the tower trainer.

I would highly recommend the Tower Trainer (and as mentioned, they do go on sale pretty regularly). The Tower Trainer is a very, very nice aircraft and exceptionally resilliant to abuse - trust me on this one :D. The wings are solid and sturdy as is the fuselage - it's definitely a plane that can take a hit or two and keep flying. Well worth the extra $10 by a MILE !!!!

If you go for the Tower Trainer 40 RTF package you will get the plane, engine, and radio for one price. The price for this package is $279, and if you check on Tower's site you can usually get $20-$30 off your purchase. I've trained many students on this plane and I personally think it's one of the best bargains out there for learning to fly.
