I am flying a Alpha Trainer and when i come in to land the engine or possibly the muffler is loading up and killing the engine just prior to setting down. Makes Touch and Gos kind of impossible. The Alpha Trainer has the Hanger 9 evolution engine. Any ideas?

Not really enough information, but it sounds like one of two things.

1- you are trying to idle too low
2- your low speed needle needs to be leaned just a tad, or maybe richened just a tad. Since you say "loads up", I'm assuming the engine is slowly loosing rpms and stopping when at idle, that would indicate it being rich, and you want to lean the low speed needle. Try moving it 1/8th of a turn at a time. very small adjustments are the rule for the low speed needle on most engines.

Thats on the money!!! If that does not work, please give more info... Like does it spit and hesitate in transition from idle to full power? Does the rpm slowly drop at idle till it dies? Does the RPM run smooth at idle and then climb slightly before it dies? I think you get the picture...
