Saito 30 4-stroke Break In
I will be breaking in my saito 30 4 stroke soon and was wondering what you guys thought about this. I was told to break it in with 15% 2-stroke fuel and then after that run 20% 2-stroke.
My engine manual says to use 2-stroke fuel.... What Gives? |
Saito 30 4-stroke Break In
2-stroke fuel has more oil, 15% all I use in my 4-strokes except the new YS 63FZ, I will use 20% with 20% oil. it's the 4-stroke fuel you should not use in your 2-strokes.

Ok, So that means very few 4-strokes actually run on 4 stoke fuel right?

I'm pretty sure that 2 stroke fuel, has a higher percentage castor oil in it. While, on the other hand 4-stroke oil has more synthetic. It's my understanding that the synthetic oil breaks down cleaner/better. The castor oil leaves more of a gummy residue that could eventually mess up your valves.
Personally, I have 5 4-stroke engines and use nothing but 4-stroke fuel with 15% nitro. I've never had a problem. I have used 2-stroke in a pinch. On a Sunday say, when my LHS is closed and I've run out of 4-stroke fuel. |
Saito 30 4-stroke Break In
Since the manual said use 2-stroke, what I think I`ll do then is break it in with 15% 2 stroke because of the extra oil in it and then run 15% 4 stroke fuel, After all it is a 4 stroke engine
