how low?
I just purchased a new nimh pack for my tx, and i did some research... I found out that you need to cycle them at least times before "regular" use... To charge @t 1/10c and discharge @ 300 milliamps....
what should be the correct cut off voltage? my cycler gives me that option its an eneloop 2000 nimh...... I previously had a 2700 , didnt have much luck with it. |
RE: how low?
8.4 is when my 7c starts to beep at me cause my battery is to low, so go with 8.0 and you should be fine
also you dont have to cycle it if you arnt going to fly for very long (hour to be safe) then discharge it the rest of the way |
RE: how low?
this is what im trying to do, i quoted it from a website
The Eneloop 2000 Tx upgrade packs will give approx 5 hours runtime in most Transmitters, are quite robust and can be fast charged at the field with an appropriate NiMH peak detection capable field charger after normal new pack formatting. (3 slow charge & 300ma discharge cycles |
RE: how low?
0.9V per cell is bottomed out for usefulness. You really should never discharge much below that. So the 8.0v for an eight-cell bank is fine. It won't hurt NiCads and NiMH to go below 0.9v, but I understand LiPos are another story.

RE: how low?
that should work fine

RE: how low?
I never had any trouble with NiMh batteries. I just use them. I treat them pretty much the same as the NiCds but don't bother about cycling them except to see how good they still are. I have some that are 10 yrs old
I use the Hobbico Elite |
