Superstar 40 as well

I just finished putting my superstar together, bought the ARF kit instead of the RTF, I already have a Super 8uap and wanted a little beefer motor than the RTF provides, so I got the o.s. 46fx. All I need now is a flight pack to complete the plane, but thats easier said than done, wife has the check book (and receipt shock from previous purchases already) and keeps asking how much more money. I just can't seem to get enough over-time. I told her I was actually saving money in the long run, but that doesn't seem to be working (time to hide the receipts). Oh well, I will keep myself under control, I don't know for how long thou, the weathers been awesome and the instructor at the local field is ready to go, I quess you could say I'm living the beginner rc pilots worst nightmare, a plane that looks nice on the ground but belongs in the air. Oh to be so close, but yet sooo..... far.

I always keep a trainer handy and love the LT-40 for lazy days of flying. I have this one set up for advanced flying and it's a ball!!!

Here's my Irvine Tutor 40, I'm a bit beyond the trainer stage really, but enjoy flying it for a nice relaxed flight.

Here's mine, an Aero-Star 40 by Midwest. I really like it and flies great :)

I've recently learned to make some decent rolls with it, and it can go pretty fast, though I prefer flying it slowly and practicing landings. I've only run a single gallon of fuel through the engine, an O.S. 46FX

I've got a pretty lengthy construction article at:

A SIG LT-40 ARF - Great first trainer plane. Have on OS-46fx in it and have changed to a bolted down wing finally. Also ended up replacing the original CA hinges with Robarts. Still love flying this plane when I just want to relax and do touch and goes etc :D

The other is my first kit build, a Four Star 60 with a Saito 91. Now this plane I love. Flies great and is very forgiving, lands as easy as the LT-40. And yes, I did quite a bit of bashing on this plane, even though it was my first kit. If your interested you can look up my building thread in the Kit Forum.

I consider the LT-40 my first RC Trainer and the 4*60 as an excellent first low wing trainer.

Now lets see, what is number 3 going to be, any suggestions :)

MinnFlyer - that Wright Flyer is awesome.

My second SIG LT-40, My daughter did in my first one. Both were built from kits, and this is a nicer covering job. Super Trainer, floats like a butterfly, very stable. :D

I'm hoping that my darling wife is going to give me a day to work on her and get her ready to fly for fathers day! Just fitting the avionics and a final 'decorating up' to get her ready now!

Nice planes everyone!
Neil.
