rebuild with coro
Hi folks,
All, a huge tree jumped out in front of an old trainer I have, "cough cough" ...any way I rebuilt a wing with coro and yardsticks just a simple flat bottom design that is the same size as the old wings. The airfoil is the right shape but I cant get the bend to smooth it has a rough look to it. Is this thing going to fly ?? lol ... any tips on bending this stuff smoothly ? |
RE: rebuild with coro
If it is the approximate shape it might work OK
It has to be more or less creased many times where the sharp bends are but will never be like a molded foam wing |
RE: rebuild with coro
thanks for the help :)

RE: rebuild with coro
Hi Phoenixangel
In many of the early instructions you were directed to crease the Coroplast top side of the wing at the point it made contact with the yardstick spar. That is what I did with my first Coroplast wing. I do not put in that crease anymore and the wing is much smoother. As the saying goes, try it, you will like it. |

RE: rebuild with coro
Hey phoenixangel, It will fly, I've built a lot of SPAD wings and even the ugly ones fly:D Check out the SPAD forum theres lots of ways to build out of coro.

RE: rebuild with coro
Guys, I creased the coro to fold it in half with the bottom flat edge fitting the cutout of the plane, then rolled it with no creasing over the top of the spar.It looks fairly decent to me has a nice flat bottom type wing. I am using old coca cola signs so its all 4mm.
