No where to fly!! The wind has just been too high around here. Guess, I'm going to buy some lights and just fly at night!! It's frustrating I tell ya!!!
CG Can you do something about the weather? IF anyone can do it the Coast Guard can!!

Hang in there. Daylight Saving Time begins on March 8th (I just looked that up). The days of flying after work are right around the corner....

If I see three days ahead of high wind, I just put flying out of my mind. It keeps me from getting my hopes up and then not being able to fly.

Yeah, I know spring is coming, thanks for the link. As for tomorrow, well, not retired yet, but hope to get off in time to try tomorrow evening. I just need to get the plane in the air and get a check flight in, since redoing all the fuel lines. Just dying to take it up. I have to get an electric for the back yard. I honestly have room in the back yard to fly anything, but don't want to risk taking the glo up with new fuel lines. That and the fact that I'm still very much a rookie.

If it is Windy on Sunday you still got NasCar to watch. Usually Sunday mornings are for flying and the afternoon for NasCar. GSYE

I flew my Extra 300 in 14-20 mph winds yesterday. You gotta learn to fly in the winds guys. It is a like a totally different experience using the wind for different tricks!

I maidened my Extra in winds this strong, and although it is do-able, I don't find it near as fun (although the constant minor corrections and being bounced around give you more of an adrenaline rush). I wish the Oklahoma winds would die down to under 12mph for just a little bit (these 30mph winds like today have got to stop). I find this to be the most enjoyable wind to fly in. I have been dieing to take my Cessna 182 up again.

Go ahead with the lights, that's what I did last winter. Seems like the worst wind around here is always between noon and dark, after that it gets calm. Found some Led's that worked great on my Super Cub and T-28. Like you said though, I'm still a little leary of taking my glow engine planes up at night. But sooner or later I'm going to find some bigger/better lights and try it on my Avistar.

I know I need to learn to fly in the wind, but I doubt that my trainer would've even sat on the runway with out blowing over! Of course today was perfect. But work keeps getting in the way of what really important! HA!

I think the wind has blown in Texas everyday since last October. The only exception is when I am too busy to fly!

That's one of the reasons I love my T-28 and my Super Cub, I can take them out of the truck at a minutes notice and kill 15 or 20 minutes on my lunch break flying in the field behind my work place. Its always windy on my off days.

Ummm.. we can do just about anything (brag..) :D but not quite as much as the USMC ;). You see, we are somewhat limited in funding again this year!! [X(] :D

But, I will do what I can. [8D]

I guess the best suggestion is to get a slow-flyer flat-out and fly indoors at your local basketball court or wait and see if I can really do something about the weather! You know what they say, Warrant Officers can do just about anything :D short of changing the weather.. [X(] ha.. oops.

While you are at it (changing the weather) change it here. Snow again and wind 20-25. Might as well have breakfast, cheese and mushroom omlet, bacon not crisp and toasted english muffin. Oh, chock full of nuts coffee. BTW good morning.

I will wave my magic wand and see what happens. Now, I have been known to mess that up a tad, so I can't guarantee the outcome. You might be better off with what you have now!! :D

How are ya, Irish? Waiting for the other guys to get here before I go down stairs for breakfast. Probably will have some Corn Chex and a banana. Light this morning. Coffee.. whatever brand the "Coffee Mess" members brew, although I often bring in my own Starbucks Kimoto Dragon.. :D and brew my own.

To keep on topic, I am working on a flat-out (it is somewhat similar to a Charger) for indoor flying. I also bought a new bi-plane flat-out that I am hoping to get delivered some time next week.

I've been playing with the simulator and indoor flying, and a bunch of our club members go up to the old BLIMP hanger at Lakehurst, NJ (where the Hindenburg crashed back in the 30's) and fly. I've not yet been there, but from what I understand, it gets somewhat crowded lately, flying indoor electrics. Should be fun. Another idea if Bill wants to fly on bad weather days.
