What am I doing wrong?? (Adding fibreglass)

Hi folks.
I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong here.

I use the Z-Poxy PT-40 system, and 142g fibre class cloth.
I've cut a strip 4cm wide, and put it on the midsection of the wing. Before that, I removed the covering.
I used an epoxy brush to apply the epoxy onto the cloth. I noticed that the epoxy soaked the cloth, but it was not sticking to the balsa surface.
What am I doing wrong here?

Should I soak the cloth before putting it on the surface? Should I apply epoxy to the surface before laying the cloth?

Experiment on some scrap balsa.

Hi gisi with your epoxy brush sread athin layer of epoxy on the bare wood then lay your glass down on the epoxy you just put on then brush on another layer of epoxy on the cloth make you put enough on to soak the cloth if its a little thicker then you want it to be take a old credit card and scrape alittle off just make sure the cloth is soaked with epoxy if you want it to real smoth take your heat gun and warm the epoxy up just be aware this speeds up the curing prosess let cure good then lightly sand as needed good luck[sm=49_49.gif]

Hi!
142g glass cloth is very heavy for a .40 airplane. Two layers of 50g glass fiber is enough, and it's much better to put on several thinner layers of cloth , in a diamond shaped pattern than just one straight tape type layer.
Have you sanded the surface prior to applying the epoxy/glass fiber?
