RX and servo question?
OK I'm about 90% sure I'm gonna do the SIG LT-40 for my first build!! Also about 80% sure I'm gonna go with the FUTABA 7C TX, My question is if I buy [link=http://www.towerhobbies.com/products/futaba/futk7000m.html]this[/link] bundle deal will [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHKB0&P=ML]these[/link] servos and [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTHL6&P=ML]this[/link] receiver will they work with the LT-40?
Also are the [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXTHL6&P=ML]digital[/link] servos much better than the [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVW07&P=ML]ball bearing[/link] servos? |
RE: RX and servo question?
Your combo choice is a good one. It will work well with your LT 40 as well as a lot of other planes. As for the debate on digital verse's the others, there are 2 sides to every story. I have used them and the only difference that I have noticed is the the digital need a little larger battery pack as they seem to pull more power than regular servos. I think they may have a solid purpose in larger planes, but for sport models, I have not noticed any difference in flight. Good Luck, Dave

RE: RX and servo question?
I agree with David. On a smaller plane like a LT-40 digitals aren't going to give you much benefit. And the downside is that they do pull more juice from your battery than standard servos, which will translate to fewer flights in a day. For a LT-40 go with standard servos as they are more than enough. Save the digitals for your bigger planes later on down the road.

RE: RX and servo question?
Any of the packages and individual components listed will work great in the LT-40.
The basic S3004 servos are plenty for any trainer plane and most 40 and 60 size sport planes. The S3152 digital is more powerful, but only a tiny bit faster. I would buy the radio system with the S3152 servos because it is only $30 more and the price difference buying the servos alone is about $20 each. Then I would buy four standard ball bearing servos for $10 to $15 each (S3004 is fine) to go in the LT-40 and save the $35 each servos for a future model. |
RE: RX and servo question?
Awesome Thank all 3 of you! and you have a good point about the prices Carrell. I think this is the way i'll go. Now I just have to find $350!
