Should I fly on the beach this weekend?
 

I'm going to the beach this weekend for fathers day and I'm thinking about taking my plane along andflying in the beach... It is a very isolated place so no danger to others will occur, my real worry is what others have told me about the sand in the engine.
I know of a place at the beach that if perfectly flat with the low tide and I have enough space to land and everything... I even made a air filter using some layers of pantyhose and a o'ring around the air opening to keep the pantyhose in place...

So what do you guys think?

Of course you should and from your description it sounds delightful. With no people problem and ample filter and plenty of space if the surface is hard enough for the size wheels then have a ball.

Here in the Southwest US there are dry lakes everywhere and can get pretty dusty and gritty but are commonly used by many.

I forgot about the many float flys with deep sandy beachs with pits right in the gritty stuff. A little common sense and not a problem.
