Titebond III
can it be used to glue on a canopy?
|
RE: Titebond III
if you are gluing the canopy directly to wood, it would probably work if you rough up the gluing surface of the canopy. It sure would look ugly with that yellow glue! [X(]
if you were gluing the canopy to covering, it wouldn't work to well. |
RE: Titebond III
i dont think Titebond will work on a plastic canopy.
CA might work but not so good and will leave stains. there are canopy glues like formula 560 they work well and clear http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXCX70&P=ML. plastics are very hard to glue as their bonds already saturated. Alex |
RE: Titebond III
you might try E-6000 I saw that other rcers were using it and it works real good, just practes with it first on scrap pieces first. I got it at wallmart $ 3.00

RE: Titebond III
How about epoxy?I used small screws before. There is a canopy cement,I never used it before.

RE: Titebond III
You want to use RC-56. Dries clear and water cleanup.

RE: Titebond III
thanks for the suggestions... its for the canopy on a H9 Tango...since i dont have canopy glue, ill use the old silcone method or epoxy

RE: Titebond III
The best to use is either the formula 560 or the RC 56. They are both vinyl based glues.
Stay away from using CyA It will cause the canopy to become brittle. Epoxy is not flexable enough for good long term hold. If you don't have axcess to the vinyl based glues the next best thing would be RTV. |
