ball thing

I don’t know what these pieces are called but I will do my best to describe them. Throttle linkage, screwed on a threaded rod I have a plastic ball socket. on the engine throttle linkage I install what looks like a micro steel ball the back has threads for a micro nut well the nut is missing so I epoxy this ball on the engine thinking there was not much stress but I did not consider the heat from the engine do you think the epoxy will hold. If you think there will be a problem I will buy one (just tell me what it is called) and I will replace it.

It may hold, but why risk it? If it fails, your throttle will be stuck, and that may not end well. I would pay the $$ and buy a new one. It is called a ball link.

Yes by all means replace it.

Heat is an issue and epoxy can melt or soften with heat.

You can also get these ball links with different types of fasteners, one type has a plastic (looks like a black rubber doughnut) or you can use a metal push-on clip instead which is much more permanent. IMHO this type of connection is head and shoulders better than a clevis as it allows a slight misalignment without creating any slopvery precise and reliable if properly installed.

Yeah, ball links are great for slightly misalligned throttle linkage. They really help remove binds in linkage thus helping with battery life.
