Tiger 2 FINISHED !!!!!

I think the instructions were about 10 year old info. Some things were just different.....Thank you Matt for helping because some of it made no sense.

40-50 hours and a lot of help later............ My first real build.

All futaba electronics and a Super Tigre G-61 abc, not ringed engine.

Was not as tough as I thought it would be for the most part, (edit>) I messed up the covering on some of the wing so I had help with the second attempt.

All that being said I ordered a GP Cherokee LOL ...Guess I am Hooked

Beautiful plane Phoenix, congratulations on your first build.
Unfortunately it is very addictive. I just can't seem to stop with the kits.

You are going to love the way this thing flies, you will compare almost everything you fly in the future to this one.

Yeah, I agree. I had a Tiger 60 and it flew just great. It was my second plane after the trainer. I had it for several years and someone wanted it more than I did, I guess, the guy made me an offer so I sold it to him. He has not yet flown it for some reason.

Spend a little time gettting the CG right on this plane. The design sort of lends itself to being slightly tail heavy. At least my Tiger 60 AND my Tiger 120 were both tail heavy and the design is simply the same, but bigger on both cases.

Enjoy flying it. It will go a long way to getting you ready for a more high-performance aircraft.

My dad is in the process of building one of these. It will be his first build too. The great thing is I get to fly it (he doesn't fly, and I don't build...yet).

With a Super Tigre G-61 ABC on the nose of your Tiger 2, I doubt you'll have to worry about it coming out nose heavy! :D

Nice. Looks like a very clean build. Great work on the covering, by the way. Much better than I could do.

Oh, is that a light-weight or a heavy one? I had a Super Tigre 75 on my Tiger 60. Lost the muffler guts (came unrivited), Super Tiger people sent me a new one.. that too came apart, so I put a MACS header and tuned pipe. Jeech.. what a power house that engine was. But, it leaked fuel worse than an old Studebaker.

I messed up the first time I tried, had a guy thats been doing it for 30+years help me with what you see, lol, he stood over my shoulder and got all drill instructor if I was doing something wrong.

I did a lot of research on the model before choosing the 61, everyone says they come in tail heavy so I just bought a bigger engine :D If you look real close in the pic you can see the CG sticker still on the wing It is at 3-7/8 from the LE, the nose heavy side of the range. I had to place the motor a bit closer to the firewall then recommended but it works.

Nice job Phoenix.
You are gonna love the TigerII. It is pretty durable too. I had one that took 2 dirt naps before It
was given to me, I slammed it in once, rebuilt it and gave it away, it has been crashed 2 more times
and miraculously still flies till this day, and still flys straight and true.
