the big battery debate
 

well its about time one or all of us say which batteries are the best for the Radio , im not too sure about other radio's but mine takes 8AA batteries is it better to get 24 (3 uses. $8.00) of non-rechargeable or 8 rechargeable ($16.00)

what are your thoughts on this?

i say go with rechargeable in the long run its better and cheaper , also lets not forget type, id preferably go with LI-ION (with a 15 minute charger it goes up to $50.00 but i think that the best investment ill ever make :D )

what are your choices for this matter?

Go with rechargeable batteries every time unless the manufacturer specifies not to use them

Are you planning on flying more than 6 times? <sarcasm>

Also, you may want to research other threads on the use of NiMH or NiCad instead of Lion for a TX.

For most of my 27/72/75 MHz transmitters and my Spektrum DX7 that take 8AAs or 8AA packs, I use rechargeables.

For my 2.4GHz DSM2 radios that only take 4AAs, I just feed them alkalines (a DX6i and two mini TXs from RTF Parkzone Vapor & Ember). I can get 4AA alkaline batts for less than $1, and they have a long shelf life. The DSM2 radios I use them in will run quite awhile on them too. Rechargeables will work fine in those as well, but they don't go through the alkaline AAs fast enough for me to worry about the cost.
