Help with antenna install
I got my new hanger 9 P51 fusilodge but what is the the way to reinstall the antenna ??
I have tried to push it through but no luck. Thank You Orso |
RE: Help with antenna install
If all else fails just lay a straw inside the length of the fuse, run the antenna through it and put a knot on the end to keep it from pulling out of the straw. Attach straw as you desire.

Not sure exactly what your setup is, but, to get an antenna through a fuse or a tube I use a 2-56 rod with the antenna taped to it and run it through.
Other options are to exit just behind the canopy and secure the antenna to the vertical stab, or exit the bottom of the fuse and run it externally. Many options. |
RE: Help with antenna install
When I am having trouble push an anntenna througha small guide I usually sparay the antenna with silicone so that it slides easily and then I straighten the antenna the best I can and put it in the freezer for a while to stiffen it up ( ok you people inthe back stop laughing it does work) you just have to be very ready when you take out the antenna because it will get very pliable again within a minute after coming out of the freezer. its not really stiff but stiff enough to be pushed through if you are quick about it.

RE: Help with antenna install
If I can get to the exiting end of the antenna tube, I run a piece of fishing line through it, tie a small knot onto the RX antenna, and pull it through the tube.. Works like a charm!
