yaw
In the manual of my PT-40 MKII it calls for differential throws for the ailerons I don’t have the correct size servo disk needed to do this no LHS and don’t want to order it. Can I do away with the differential or will I get server adverse yaw.

RE: yaw
Can you drill new holes in a servo wheel?
Otherwise, you can just learn how to use the rudder. |
RE: yaw
the servo wheels I have are to small in Di. and the stars are 4 pointed not 6 like I need.

RE: yaw
It's really not going to matter. We flew for YEARS before someone decided that we had to have differential in tha ailerons.

thank you! |
RE: yaw
wzak,
If you have a transmitter that has the capability of adjusting this, you don't need to play around with the servos... Like Minn said, you don't need it and you'll never notice it unless you've been flying for years. What do ya have for a TX?... just curious. |
RE: yaw
He has a Airtronics VG400 radio. I have been helping him build this plane through emails and photos so I know alittle about his plane, but this is something I do not want to attempt to help him with. Sorry wzak, but I don't want to give you false info on something I don't understand myself.

RE: yaw
It is important for every budding R/C pilot to learn how to effectively use the rudder. Differential is not needed in that aircraft.

RE: yaw
I agree. Don't worry about setting up the differential. The plane will fly just fine without it. And like Nathan said, it's good to learn to fly with rudder too!!! ;)

RE: yaw
If you still want to set diferential throws, you can use the smaller disks. Make sure to drill the holes in the proper positions as far out as you can, doublechecking your angles. Then screw your aileron horns in till you get the proper throws.
Smaller disks, shorter horns. |
