Help with fuel disposal.

My uncle stopped flying glow and went to all electric a few years ago. He sent me a few engines. A gms .35 NIB, and 2 OS 25's and a magnum 52 four stroker. Some robart air retracts with struts, and a lot of sullivan glow tanks. The 2 os and magnum engines and some of the tanks had to be soaked in fuel. I have about half a gallon of junked up glow fuel I do not know what to do with to dispose of it properly. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to your local airport. The FBO should have a waste tank that they would be willing to let you dump it in.

I wouldn't count on an FBO helping you out too much

I would go to a place that will take used oil and paints.

Pour it down the drain in honor of earthday!

JK I would pour it in some rags or in a jar or coffee can, let the methanol evaporate and just throw it away. Nothing too serious gonna be in it.

Look on the web for places in your area that accept hazardous waste. They will probably take old NiCads, paint, and other such crud, too. If you can't find one, you can put the fuel in your car's gas tank, or so I'm told; never tried it myself.

If it's only half a gallon...

You got any weeds growing up through the cracks in the sidewalk or driveway? Old fuel works pretty good as a weed killer...and is probably less hazzardous than actual "weed killer"...

I wish you were closer. I'd filter it and pour it in my 1960 Triumph TR3 car, like I do with all the old fuel, gasoline, etc., I have laying around I love this car, it's a blast to drive and she has no problem injesting a variety of solvents, as long as they are reasonably dilluted.

I dump it in my old lawn mower. Gives it a little kick when the grass is tall.
