Need Help, Need Some Ideas

Hello Everyone,

Well for starters I really like the site! But my question is, what is a good, nice airplane for a begginer? I dont want your $30 backyard glider either... I want to get plane that is anywhere from 40- 200. I would prefer to get one with a long electric charge or can hold a good ammount of fuel. I also want it to be able to go sort of fast but not to fast. I live next to a RC plane and Heli. runway so I'll have time to practice.

the words beginner and fast should not be used togrther you want to start on a slow flying stable plane to give youself a chance to react on the controls.look at the trainers list above

I've put together a list of planes that make good trainers and second planes. All of them on the list are proven planes that are well suited for successfully letting students learn to fly, or advance to a second plane. Check out the list here

Hope this helps

I'd also pay a visit to the local RC club and see what is popular there. You'll find plenty of people ready to help out.

I have to second the Ugly Stick recomendation. If you have some flying ability allready this is a great next plane choice. It is an old but still very popular plane for several reasons.
The most important reason is it FLYS GREAT. It is also a very simple design even for scratch building. There are numerous variations and most are fine. choos e one to fit your equipment. The Ultra Sticks are nice I really like mine.

Have you talked to anyone from that RC plane and Heli field yet? Most flying frields have people who can help you get started. When I start with a new pilot, its nice if I can help them from the ground up. It would be great if you contacted them before buying a plane to fly on thier field.

Most fields have clubs, the clubs require dues and a AMA sign up to start training for flying.

Believe me the cost is small compaired with the amount of cost for equipment without help in learning to fly.

What a lot of people don't realize is the fact that when a plane is coming at them the controls are backwards, and there is a learning curve to landing a plane.

Good luck, don't mean to talk you out of flying. Just want you to get started off right.

You have done the best thing in coming to this forum, its the best fot answers and problems.

jr, many more people than RCNation101 will read this thread, so the post by stick 40 is worthwhile. Moreover, the OP didn't indicate how he gained his experience, therefore the info may be beneficial to the OP as well.

If you already know basic control and know how to land, then any basic sport model will work fine for you. Sticks, Sig 4 Stars and Sumpthin' Extras, Goldberg Tiger 2, etc. are all faster and more maneuverable than trainers without being prone to stalling unexpectedly.

Total rudeness. A thread hijack and request for emailed responses so he doesn't have to check back all in one. I think he should put a .46 Evolution on the front of that foamy.

1. Welcome to RCUniverse.
2. For future reference, posting your own question about a completely unrelated topic in someone else's thread is considered "hijacking" of that thread, and is generally looked down upon. If you have a question, create a new thread using the "New Topic" button.
3.For the love of God, please learn some basic punctuation and grammar. It is very difficult to read sloppy posts like yours.

No, I don't know what I "kan" do. I cant understand what you're trying to say through the gibberish that is your "writing".
