The "Engine pods" on a twin or quad-engine airplane

Minnflyer, I guess I don't quite understand what your talking about. I've always thought that the "Turtle Deck" was reffering to the area in front of the cockpit, above where the engine is. I'm getting confused [sm=confused.gif]

This is the Sig Four Star. Note the area behind the cockpit. This is often removed by some flyers that don't like it. It is referred to as the Turtle Back.

Ah.. yeah, that's my usual routine. I am usually at my desk by 6 AM. shower, shave, get dressed, 20 minute commute, stop and make a pot of java, then on to my desk.

Today, though, I'm down in FLA on a mini-vacation but have to fly north this afternoon..[:o]

When I was in the CG, we always started our work day at 7 AM and went from there. That is, of course, if we weren't at sea. If at sea, well, the day often started at 4 AM with early breakfast followed by a day of boardings (domestic and foreign fisheries). Then there were the Drug Enforcement days..or nights.. all nighters. I don't miss THOSE days, I'll tell ya.

No way. Up by 4:45 AM here, head for the gym and at my desk by 7 AM, so I'm out by 4 PM.

It's light a lot during the summer here too.

Ken/Irish.. yeah, I gotta tell ya.. while down in FLA for this long weekend, I woke up at 7 AM each and every day. None of that 5AM crap.. but, back to "normal" tonite... blah..[&o];)

I save my gym time for the evening so I can go home afterwards and simply hit the hay.. :)

RE: Turtle Deck

LOL - I love my early hours and very rarely sleep past 5:30 AM, even on the weekens. No alarm clock, I just wake up. My Dad was the same way. Count youself lucky you don't have this sickness!

The upside - on the weekend, I get so much done before the family starts to get up around 7-7:30 AM. It's great.

Thread content - I'm looking at balsa sheeting over the turtle deck on my modified 4*40, with the material extending clear to the back of the feathers. I think it would look nice and hide the large tri-stock I'll be using to anchor the new tail feathers in place.

Jack, that has been done before and I recall a thread somewhere.. it might be worth a look see (search engine).

CGr.

Ken: I leave for the return to NJ today (this afternoon via PHL). I have to head back to Louisville, most likely for weekend duty.. blah.. (nights while UPS sleeps).
