I thought I was confused about what it was you wanted, now I know that I am. What Data do you want your On Screen Display to display?

If your talking about the confuser screen on your transmitter, I don't know of any after market displays.

RE: on screen display

I have to assume OSD means On Screen Display (based on the topic title). But, that does nothing for explanation of exactly what it is you want.

If you are talking about a video camera in the cockpit or on the wing, or something, that sends the video down to the ground for viewing on a monitor... wow.. what a mouthful!! :D well, that exists but this may not be the right place to put this sort of request. It is better off in the Aerial Photography and Video.

If this is what you want, let one of us (moderators) know and we will be happy to move it on over there.

This is the Beginners Forum, after all.

Coasty, you must of read my post before I saw that the Acronym OSD=On Screen Display. I really have no idea what he's talking about. Not really a beginners topic, is this? This time I went back to make sure I was in the Beginners topic, so I at least don't have this wrong!

I've asked RCKen for advice on this. Not that it's a bad post, but perhaps it belongs elsewhere where it would get more response.

Unfortunately, when I tried to hit "REPLY" to his post, it went no where, so I had to add my reply in the "fast reply" box which indicated a reply to your post, which it was not. Sorry for the confusion.

CrAp!! yes, wrong place and wrong wording - what I want is an OSD (on screen display) to show me the "home" arrow, altitude etc.... but I won't say more since this post is in the wrong forum, I will not quietly walk to the back of the room and walk out while everyone's looking shaking their heads... 00ps :D

No sweat, Alex. We were a tad confused, that's all.. and that's nothing new, at least for me.. :D Your call if you want to move it.. not necessary. I just thought that might be a better place.. depending on what you mean, that is. I thought you meant viewing the aircraft path using an on-board camera to a ground receiver or something like that. I've seen that done and it was pretty impressive, and that was, oh, 10 years ago. The technology has improved tremendously since then, mineature devices that don't draw much power.. weight almost nothing.. can easily be put on an RC aircraft to either record on board or transmit the video to the ground for viewing or recording... or both.

But we're still a bit confused. I'm not sure what you mean about the home "arrow" altitude, and so on. Are you talking about on-board GPS or something like that? For the edification of those of us that may not be savy, if you wish, please explain.
