Great Planes Tailwheel

Has anyone drilled out this tailwheel in order to accept a little bit bigger axle? Does anyone know if you can?

Thanks

Sure you could,
Ive not drilled that particular wheel but i have enlarged other hubs before to accept larger dia.

Drill away!

Be careful if you feed the bit too fast it will grab and spin the hub in the wheel

The tire is not fixed to the hub permanently so you'll want to go slow or clamp the tire to provide more holding pressure on the hub.

Would a reamer be a better choice?

A reamerwon't cut through the aluminum hub.
