What next after Trojan?
Anybody like to give their opinions on which plane to go for next. Have been really enjoying the trojan. Initially flew it without the wheels so that I could belly land it the long grass. Quickly flicked the full control switch to get extra surface movement...Excellent plane. Nicely aerobatic. Ive been putting some nice moves in despite the weather here in the UK being quite windy. Anyway, im now thinking about my third plane. My limited experiance was pushing me towards a smaller and more agile plane but size wise I dont actually mind, just looking for something capable of more aerobatics. Let me know what you think. Thanks Adam_Fozz
|
RE: What next after Trojan?
I haven't flown it, but alot of guys on here love the pz Stryker.

RE: What next after Trojan?
Get you an edf jet. Its a totally new challenge since you won't have the air over the control surfaces provided by a propeller. Stalls and slow flight are a whole new thing.

RE: What next after Trojan?
are you sticking with electrics or going to try glow?
|
RE: What next after Trojan?
if you go for glow,it'll be a new field to explore.i mean, the engine maintenance and all.
the trojan somewhat looks like this [link=http://www.twift.com/RC%20Toys%20&%20Hobby/TW748%20F4U%20Corsair%20-%20Warplane%20RC%20Plane.html]F4U Corsair[/link] i bet it can acrobat better than the Trojan. |
RE: What next after Trojan?
Thanks for your opinions. My plan was to stick with Electric because of the reasons mentioned...I have had nitro cars and the maintenance is a bit of a drag sometimes when you just want to fly. Obviously batteries are the downside of electrics.

Adam
|
RE: What next after Trojan?
Buy a bigger Trojan. You can buy them in small, medium and large sizesfrom Black Horse. The small one needs something likea 45 fourstroke, the medium is designed for a 90 fourstroke and the big one is rated for a 120 four stroke. The big one comes with retracts. If you wanted to electrifiy them I am sure there are motors out there that would do the job.
Now theres a challenge for you build the big one, put it on this site and show us how it goes. Would be interested to see how they go together before I build mine

|
RE: What next after Trojan?
I`m intrested in this topic too, I`ve gotten the hang of my trusty Corsair and I`m thinking of getting one of Eflite/Parkzone PNP or BNF planes, I`m split between the Stryker, the Mini Pulse XT, the Mustang BL and the Typhoon 2, do you guys have any reccomendations?

RE: What next after Trojan?
Depends on your style. If you like speed, Stryker, If you like 3D, hovering, knife edge, etc. Typhoon 2. Or get both, the radio gear and batteries are interchangeable.
