<span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Sort of new to RC, but not to models.

I have built several RC airplanes; Goldberg Eagle, etc. but only flew them when an instructor put it in the air. That was years ago.

I am coming back into the hobby. I live in an apartment so I am going with an electric park flyer to start. Never saw an electric fly. I am going to get into the local AMA club, so I should have plenty of advice.

I like to build so I ordered a park flyer kit and a building board to get back into this.

Seems most folks are going to ARF/RTF. But part of this for me is building.

Welcome! I'm relatively new myself, returning to this great hobby last year after dropping it 30 years ago. You'll find alot of helpful and knowledgable people here.

It's great that your joining a local club. If you don't already have one,I recommend a good similator as well, something like Great Planes RealFlight.

We lived in a small aprtment for a while between houses. While we were there, I built a couple plane on the dining room table. For the messy stuff like sanding, I went out on the tiny porch.

Seems to me like you are going about it the right way. Welcome back and have fun.

I like building kits, but would always recommend an ARF/RTF to a totally new person. There's no way to know if a new person will stay in the hobby. And there's not an emotional attachment to an ARF so crashing it does not hurt as bad.

We have members in our club who have no desire to build and we have builders. We all have fun and like to watch each other fly no matter what kind of plane it is.
