wiring setup for servos/receiver.
Hello,
After 5 years of being out of the hobby for various reasons (Moving interstate with my family so my wife and I could divorce and then all the messiness that goes with that) Im finally at a stage where I can give it another go. I dusted off my old Hitech 4 channel radio and have it on charge at the moment along with my receiver battery pack. I have a feeling my receiver may have suffered water damage during a storm when my garage leaked so I want to test it. I have all these cables and connectors but for the life of me I cannot remember how it all goes. The switch I have has two wires on one side, one has a female plug which connects to the battery but the other is a male and I have no idea where its supposed to connect too. On the other side of the switch the lead runs to a plug which then goes to a heatshrinked splitter type setup that branches off to the voltage check light and also I assume the other end goes straight into the servo. Can someone pleae confirm this for me? Also my battery pack is 4.8v 600mAh. Im assuming these days there is something better than that available. What exactly should I be buying? TIA |

After 5 years I would replace both the TX and RX batteries first off.......the switch...single wire side goes to the transmitter.......then the female on the 2 lead side.goes to the battery...the other wire is for charging the battery......servos hook up to the RX channel 1 through 4....1 ailerons, 2 elevators, 3 is throttle, and 4 is rudder....might want to think of hooking up with an instructor for a flight or 2</p> Welcomw back and good flyin</p> |

usually on the switch the side with the singlepigtail goes to the reciever,the side with two pigtails,one goes to thebattery and the other is the charge jack that someone added an esv too.you may want to consider a new radio as the batteries should be checked for capacity.after sitting 5 years their capacity could be close to 0 even though they work your servos they will not work for many minutes

Ahhh yes of course thats right the other wire was for charging the battery. Thanks for that, I remember now. The battery pack in the radio is a plug in removable type so I will replace it and the recevier battery pack. For now I just want to see if the recevier is actually still working which from tests I did a short time ago it seems to be fine. Thanks again.

Seems to me something is not right here. The battery wire is never a male because it could short out on anything metal.

the battery connector is male with recessed pins that can't short out......you might be thinking of dean's connector I'm talking about Futaba J connectors.....goods flyin
