Fixed the decathlon!

1 Attachment(s)
Well, I fixed the decathlon and I was gonna put it up for sale but... It's such a good looking plane, flys pretty well unless you really try to get crazy with it. I have already ordered a replacement plane, phoenix spitfire, but I guess I feel like I have a relationship with this plane since I have fixed it twice now from light crashes. The last one I got really lucky since it went in uncontrolled from about 100 ft up and only cracked the fuse in half. The fix was like Ken said before, like putting a puzzle back together. I even repainted the cowl this time so it looks really good.

Brett,
Looks great!!!! Repairing isn't that hard if you just take you time to put it all back together one piece at a time.

Is this the 40 size Decathlon?? If you decide you don't want to keep it, let me know!

Ken

Good job on the repairs, it looks great! Sometimes it takes longer to rebuild, then to build or assemble it from the start!

The struts definitely seem to help out the big wing. It will do hard snap rolls just fine. You don't have to baby it, she is a strong plane.

Yeah  but are the struts needed?

If you're just gonna float around with it then you could probably get away without them, but if you wanted to actually use the plane for what its designed for then I would put them on. Do you not like the look of them or something? I think they make it look more realistic.

Was it broken?...nice job! Everytime I see the Decathlon the plane just gets prettier and prettier to me and, from what I've heard it flies nicely. Just don't think I'm ready for that one yet. lol
