Phoenix model Trainer 60?
 

Hey guys:) I just bought a phoenix model Trainer 60 for some relaxing evening flights. Its been years since I`ve flown a trainer so I just wonder if it will fly OK with a 46 2stroke?
I have a brand new magnum 46, and I dont really want to buy a new engine:)

should have bought the 40 sized trainer. It will fly on the 46 although it will not be aerobatic at all. i would go w/ a 11x5 or 12.25x3.75 for the prop

if you want just want to fly level then it will work, but your vertical will be very limited

Well that sounds good to me:) I just want to fly on the "wings" and just have a good time with a relaxing trainer:)
I know I should have bought the 40 size trainer, but the 60 was at half price:D I hope it will take of from our grass field :)

I have now mounted all of the servos and installed the engine. So I hope it will fly, and take off from our grass airfield.. It should. It weighs 3,2 kg`s.

Cut the grass to 2 inches or less, roll it if you can. May also try moving up to 3.25 - 3.5 inch wheels, decreases rolling friction. I use them on my 40 trainer with 52 four stroke, it behaves well. Give it lots of room to run out before lift off. Good luck, keep us posted!

:D I cant wait to maiden this trainer:) I kind of miss the time when I flew trainers. They are so simple, yet so fun to fly!
The standard wheels is actually quite big, and our grass field is amazing, very short grass and it looks like a golf course!
All planes nowdays are way overpowered and it will be fun to fly an airplane on the wings and not on the engine:D

Good luck with the maiden. Hope you have a blast. I would love to get myself a trainer 1. for a relaxing plane 2. I'll want to slam some floats onto it. They have float flying events here and I really want to try out float flying. Oh well it will just have to wait...

Yeah, float flying would have been great:D Unfortunately I dont think my 46 size engine would be powerfull enough to lift the trainer off the water with floats. But I`m gonna throw in a alpha 81 4stroke in it this winter, just have to save some money..hehe:D

Seems like the 46 was more than powerfull enough:) To be honest, I dont notice any less power in this 60 size airframe than in a 40. I`m very happy and the plane flies amazing:)

It weighs what?!:D We're mostly Americans, and I have no clue how much that is without converting it.:)

:D Lol:D It weighs 7.4 lbs:) It flies amazing! It only need about half throttle to fly nice and level:)
