A little problem

Hello everyone. I have a little problem. I live in South Florida (near Miami) and there's not that good of places to fly. So far i gotten two RC planes(one of which is horribly crashed) :( And i have one that is in airworthy condition however i have one little problem. I don't know where i can find a nice field to fly. The flattest Ive seen is either farmland(which i doubt they will let me fly) and a football field (i crashed both because i flew at one).

Id say its my 3rd of 4th time flying so far and all have ended horribly because i do not have anywhere good to fly. [:@]

With that said..[&o] does anyone know any good flying locations around South Florida? Heck it doesn't need to be down there, a bit north is ok but preferably south. (and i need somewhere that doesn't require to have a license or requirements like one of em had before)

Please and thank you!!!!![8D]

Nevertheless, contact Skyhigh Bev (her sign on name) or contact this site:

From what I understand, they are VERY friendly and will work with anybody.

just use the state of florida to search on, there are over 100 clubs. call one and see what information you can get from them. you're a little too far away for me to help you here!

Good luck!

CG beat me to it....;)

Ummm... no not yet, Gene. I did fly the Seawind EP but not the Diablo. I'm not sure about it. It seems heavy for the power package that it comes with so I'm somewhat leary about putting it up. It's all ready to go.. it's just me. I'm somewhat... what... frightened... no, not that, just cautious, I guess.

Welcome to the forums, Arvak777!

I live in West Palm.

If your models are electric park flyer type, there are several parks in Broward where groups with that interest meet and fly their models.

I will ask a friend of mine to contact you next week.

When you mention a license, I believe you refer to AMA membership and insurance to fly bigger models in official clubs.
I also believe that AMA has special programs for park flyers.
Just visit the websites:
http://www.theparkpilot.org/
http://www.modelaircraft.org/

There is also a forum here for electric park flyers, where you can find additional help and advice:

Best regards!

Check out the AMPS club. It is at S.W. 168 St and 201 Ave. The WEB site is amps-rc.com.

Glad you got what you needed. As you've already seen, these airplanes are not as easy to fly as they look like they should be. Going it alone rarely works. If you get into a club the help you'll recieve from fellow members is worth far more than the cost of joining the club. Just be considerate and understand that all the members who can help you are doing so out of their free time and you'll do fine.
