Prop for O.S. .61 FX engine
The manual says that the smallest prop that I could use was a 12x6 prop. The only thing I am worried about is that the 12 inch prop might not give me the clearance I need from the ground. Could I go with a smaller prop, or is the prop selection limited to the what the manual says. Thanks

what plane is it on? a 12X6 is a good all around prop for a .61 I use an 11X8 on mine but that makes the plane faster then the 12X6.

11x7 or 11x8 are perfectly acceptable sizes to use on your engine as well as most modern two stroke 61's.

I've used a 11 x 7 on mine with a Mac's tuned pipe. The engine was installed in a Bridi XLT which flew like a bat out of hell.

If you're concerned about ground clearance how about a 10x7 three blade prop? Slightly less efficient, but much more efficient than trying to dig holes in the runway with the prop tips. :)

I have a 10x6 sitting around, would that work?

what airplane is this going on? you can go a size bigger on the tires.....a 1/2 inch bigger wheel gives you another 1/4 inch of ground clearance

I have it on my trainer. My old engine is acting up, so I slapped my .61 FX on it.
