Engine thrust, Hobbistar 60 MK III
I am mounting an Evolution 60 engine in a HOBBISTAR 60 trainer. The manual does not mention down or side thrust. Is this built into the firewall or is it not something to be concerned with? Is it best to fly it and see if it wants to climb or turn on its own?

RE: Engine thrust, Hobbistar 60 MK III
Most modern ARFs have thrust offset built in already.
Fly it first and see if any changes are needed. |

This airplane will climb on you with power on....with that said I agree with missleman....don't read into your instructions.....
Ok the best thing to do is trim your airplane at 1/2 throttle or a bit less, to fly straight and level with thumbs off....this is where you will be doing most of your flying....flat bottom wing will climb on you with power.....but that is ok...as when you add power your wanting to go up anyway..... As missleman said fly it. Then talk it over with your instructor if you need one. Make adjustments as required |

The Hobbistar 60 has a semi-symmetrical wing.

Hi,
Mine has a little bit of right thrust. The Hobbistart 60 flies really well and is easy to control. (my instructor trimmed it). |

My bust you are correct it is a semi-symmetrical wing, but it will still climb on you with power on....
