Are we blogging?
I here this term on TV a lot and not sure what it means.
We don't have a teenager at home anymore so no one to ask. Is this considered blogging? If not, what is blogging? Thanks, KW_Counter |

There is the opportunity to blog at your main profile page. I don't fully understand the definition either, but I gathered what was mentioned above - similar thing, but just a one sided story of what's going on with you.

I have run across a number of blogs, some are written in style as if the writer were a newspaper reporter, and some, well, there are some very lonely people..
A blog could be many things, the best one to me are the diary style ones. I have one that outlined a trip I took a long time time ago. Remember when gas was less than $1 a gallon? I went coast to coast for less than $100, including hotels and meals..:D |

I think it is border line, some buildthreads are essentially blogs while others are using this more as a chat site. Best name is forum I guess and then we are all foruming... ;)

OK.....I've always wanted clarification on "blogging" too. So,thanks guys! No I know this topic is off topic,but is helping alot of us,so I appreciate it. Now that we've covered "blogging"....
What is all this "Twitter" stuff about? Is it just a website for a bunch of people to post thier "blogs"? If so, are "tweets" (an short message on someones twitter page I guess) simply "blog" entries? |

alright, if you understand "blogging", which is basically writing a diary and posting it for the world to read, with no responses expected, "twittering" takes it to the next level, you write a "short" blog, then a mailing list is notified, i.e, the message "I just sneezed" is sent to 2.3 million people automaticaly:eek: I should add that blogging is mainly an internet thing, where as twittering is a cell phone thing

Well, I don't consider myself an Old Fart, yet (my oldest is a senior in H.S), but I'm not as young as I look either :D. I'm probably in the minority in my generation, but I think the whole Twittering thing is ridiculous. People spend more time typing words onto tiny screens than it would actually take to call someone and talk to them personally. Blogging, on the otherhand, isn't so irrelevant. I've blogged a few times here on my Profile page. They're pretty boring. Just little glimpses into my thoughts about what I'm doing, or want to be doing. To me, it's just another way to get to know some of the people we interact with here on the forums, but never get the chance to meet face to face.

I actually had to have my girlfriend show me how to send a text messege on my cel phone, because I don't do that either [>:].

it's the teenagers thats really using it the most, I have a 14 and a 15 year old, and it drives me nuts, I can tell you what 20 teenagers are up to a any given time, which ones are at the movies, who is at the mall, who was at the mall, who's looking for who at the mall, what store their in at the mall, what he bought what at the mall, who they met at the mall, arrrgggghhhh[sm=bananahead.gif]
