RE: first time builder
Are you looking to scratch/plans build this plane? If so you can look at the Model Airplane News plans, RC Modeler plans and the AMA plans, I haven't seen the F-16 but there may be plans for it. In kit form if you look at House Of Balsa they had a A-7 Corsair but you may have to find it on ebay if it has been discontinued. There is a build thread on this plane in the kit building forum about 3 or 4 pages back.

RE: first time builder
Have you been flying for a while and this is your first build or is it a first time for both?
If you are new to flying and building then forget the F-16 or other high performance airplane idea. They don't stuff first time student pilots in a full-scale F-16 for good reason and those same reasons apply to RC as well. If you've never flown before then start by building a good trainer. If you do have some flying experience then look at a good intermediate kit like the Sig 4-Star, Goldberg Tiger, GP Rapture, etc. |
RE: first time builder
There is nothing basic about an F16. A new flyer trying to build and fly one would be about the same as a new driver building and trying to drive a Nascar stock car. Not gonna happen successfully.
If you want to get into RC, read the beginners' stickys and get one of the reccomended first planes. $300 is a small budget, but doable with one of the electric park flyers. You also need an instructor if you want the plane to last. Good luck. |
RE: first time builder
Chuck, Horizon sells that jet PTS thing as a trainer. I have only seen two of them so far and they are even harder to fly then the P-51, looks cool but it's a not something I would like to teach with.
