Prop Conversion 2 blade to 3 blade

Hello You All,
I know what you are about to say but let me explain.
The grass at the field is getting really tall, and the members that mow it will not let anyone cut it.
They take cutting it very seriously and it just a riding mower. Well this is what I would like to do, is get a three or four blade prop that is smaller but put out the same pull as a 12X6 or 12X7. What is the conversion that I should make when looking for a three or four blade prop? When the grass is short I will use the 2 blade prop.
Thank you
Mustang

RE: Prop Conversion 2 blade to 3 blade

I have heard that it is take one inch off diameter and add one to pitch. So a similar to a 12x6 would be an 11x7 three blade.

RE: Prop Conversion 2 blade to 3 blade

From Master Airscrew:

To convert from 2 blades to 3 blades you want to decrease the total blade area and
increase the angle of attack (or pitch) to overcome the increased drag of the third blade.
The general rule is to DECREASE propeller diameter by 1-2”, and INCREASE by 1-2”
the propeller pitch. It is all right to keep the same pitch when going from 2 blade to 3,
however you will not want to decrease pitch.
