TWM Nemesis .52 as 2nd plane?
 

Hello!

I've been flying small electric foam-Cessna for some time, and in august I maidened my AT-40 trainer(.40 size trainer, looks like the PT-40).
I have absolutely no problem taking off, flying and landing my AT-40.


Now I want a more aerobatic and faster plane. So I'm considering the World Models Nemesis with either a SC .61 or ASP .52.
I have no problem at all flying this kind of plane in the Realflight G4.5 simulator (the GP Little Toni).

So what do you think? Will this be a too big step for me, or do you think I will be able to handle it?

If you think your ready. Go for it. A friend of mine had me put one together for him early this spring. The Nemesis is a Fast plane and needs qiute a bit more speed when landing. I test flew it for him, and mentioned a few tips to keep him out of trouble with this style airplane. This was his 5th or 6th plane and did not last him more than a month and he crashed it, but that was him. I would ask someone you fly with and that you know to be an experienced pilot.

After getting my hands all over the Real Nemesis, I thought about scratch building one. I finally decided against it as the real plane is kind of unstable. One coment was that if the passenger brought along an extra tooth brush, it would screw up the CG. I've got to say that it is probably the sexistplane I've ever saw.

This ARF is a long ways from scale though, so it may fly better. Even then, Iwould hold off, or buy it while it's avaiable and put it aside until you've got a few more planes under your belt.

The Kosoho Kelly is another of the same type plane. One of the guys had one at the field and I was trying to get a couple air shots of it. It was so fast the when I locked it in the view finder at wide angle, it would be past us before I could start to zoom Igot two shots, way out, and the last one was about 10 seconds before the end of the plane. That pilot had flown quite a number of planes of all different sizes and styles. He mentioned that this was the hardest one he had ever flown, "you have to fly it evey second or it gone". Turns out that the failure that brough it down was the servo tray popping loose from glass fuselage. No pilot could have recovered from that.

The Nemesis though is a real eyefull

I'd personally go for something more intermediate. this nemesis is going to be very fast and could get you into trouble before you know it. I'm sure it is a great airplane, just not for someone fresh off a basic trainer.

No need to apologize for your English. It is better than many native English speakers. You should hear how bad I am in German or Spanish.:D

I'll probably go for the Carosel from ARC Modelfly instead.
It is said to be a good low-wing trainer and a good 2nd plane.

Hi!
The Nemesis demands more experience than you probably have!

Instead of getting an ARF plane like the Carusel above which isn't that got a flier...get a Q-500 racer, like the "Ryggskott" , "Dodger" or
" Sonic 500" . ALL of them powered by a .40 two strokes will take you to speeds around 160-180km/h powered by an OS FX .40 , ASP .40 or Webra .40 and a 10x6 RAM prop using 80/20 fuel, weight is 1800g.
These planes my look simple but I can assure you that they are very good fliers and you can do every maneuver in the book with them.
The "Ryggskott" and "Dodger"is available in kit form a Swedish garage manufacturer and if you mail me I can send his telephone number.
The Sonic 500 is available in a ARF kit in most hobby stores.

You are comparing two different airplanes, both flown by Jon Sharp.

Yep, you are right, The orginal was a mid wing as the model is. I had forgoten about it.

The Nemesis that in in my photo is the Rentless. Kevin Eldredge who owns Slo Ari here in San Luis Obispo was the owner and pilot of #42. He was selling the kits two year back, but now SloAir is selling the Sbach 300 and 342 planes. I'll have to find out what is going on, there are a couple guys in the our club that are tied in perty close with the Reno Air raching guys. Last I heard, there was some major redesign on the tail of the NXT.
