MAKA, we need more info on your set up such as what batteries, what plane ? does the motor get hot while flying or just during static ground tests ?

also what are the motor specs ? max amps, volts and so on or a link to the motor could help as well. send the info and see what we can do to help.

we also have wattflyer.com wich iIS part of RCU that has alot of good people and help check it out also

You can touch and hold your fingers on about 130 degrees F. Most motors run hotter than that.

Electric shouldn't.

To think electric motors should not get hot? Well, I will not go further. Do a little Google search. Electric motors can get hot enough to fry an egg on and be operating perfectly normal. It depends on how they are designed and used.

I do not disagree with you that some electric motors can get very hot and still run well, but when setting up an electric power system in an airplane I was alway told heat is a bad thing. You should always have adequate air flow over esc's, batteries(if possible) and the motor. None of my electrics get hot.
