motor getting hot
I have a Alpha 400 (3500kv) Brushless Motor with a prop size 9.5.My question is,is it normal for them to get hot

MAKA, we need more info on your set up such as what batteries, what plane ? does the motor get hot while flying or just during static ground tests ? also what are the motor specs ? max amps, volts and so on or a link to the motor could help as well. send the info and see what we can do to help. we also have wattflyer.com wich iIS part of RCU that has alot of good people and help check it out also bass |

You can touch and hold your fingers on about 130 degrees F. Most motors run hotter than that.

To think electric motors should not get hot? Well, I will not go further. Do a little Google search. Electric motors can get hot enough to fry an egg on and be operating perfectly normal. It depends on how they are designed and used.
