Reviving U-Can_Do 60

Just completed setting up a U-Can-Do 60 that I purchased in Jun/Jul 2008 and have never flown. Anyway was very surprised to find the motor started after a simple prime and about 15 seconds on the starter. Needs tuning but it started after laying idle since Jun-Jul 2008.

Looking forward to getting her in the air. By the way I left the engine with the cylinder pointed upward as I bought it.

What do you have on it for an engine, Roo Man?

Probably an O.S. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...ey/msn/lol.gif

It has an OS 61. Plenty of power for my flying, just a few loops and some rolls, no 3D for me at least not for a long time. Just flew it yesterday for the first time and I love it. It is vey big and easy for this old man to see. Flew several times and had several good landings but on one I dropped the right wing on the runway [asphalt] did slight damagew to the tip, should be about a 1 hour fix. Still don't have the engine tuned where it will idle properly so all the landings were to fast. Will get our clubs expert tuner to set it up on Monday.

Its a good idea to let your landings rollout to almost a dead stop before turning flying off of asphalt. Wingtip skids save a lot of damage flying off hard surfaces. ;)

Funny thing is, I had wing tip skids and it looks like they contributed to the damage as it looks like it was pulled out, might have hit a hole or rought spot that caught the skid. The damage was so minor that I didn't even notice it until I turned the plane over to remove the wing.
