hey guys...this might be in the wrong forum but here goes

got my first RC aircraft couple of years ago, its a parkzone F27 stryker. ive flown it a lot and its been crashed a lot as well haha. Anyway the run time came way down, and the motor is not producing as much power as it used to, its so bad now I have to chuck it off a hill now to be able to fly it and once its up and running i get about a minute of run time before the motor shuts down. I figured the battery was probably stuffed so I got a new one (identical) but it did the same thing. Any ideas what might be up with it? The only problem is i can't remember when the problem first started, whether it was after a bad crash or whether it just slowly got worse over time.

Any ideas what might be up? ive ruled out the battery...so that leaves the charger and the aircraft. maybe it took one hard knock too many??

Two possiblities.

- You have a brushed version Stryker it seems, so it is possible that the brushes are worn down.

You could try putting in a new motor.

- Don't rule out a problem with the battery packs. The only way to really tell is by using a Watt meter.

It is possible that the replacement pack you received has been sitting in storage for a long time, so the battery is not properly "conditioned" or is no longer good.

You should run it down, then overcharge it by about 10%-20% ( timewise ) before trying it again to help condition it.

I would think that if it were the mtr it would still run, not completely shut down. I have had similar problems and found the problem was in the charger. It's possible to have a bad battery but two. . . not likely.

If you are using the stock cigarette-lighter charger, that may be the problem. I had this problem with an Aerobird, where the charger would say it was full, but it wasn't.

Yeah, the charger is highly suspect.

thanks guys, the styker has a computer that shuts down the motor to preserve power for the control surfaces, so i dont think its to do with the motor

yeah i never liked the cigarette charger, can anyone link me to a wall charger that would work, or at least a better cigarette socket charger than the stock one??

fyi the battery is an 8.4V 1000Mah Ni-Mh

Ihave the 230 & the 240, both come with multiple leads. Best charger I have used to date.

I also have an F27 that would not fly and took your suggestion regarding charging and charged my two batteries last evening on my field charger and wa la she flies went right up this morning.
